This tool was created to help students of Japanese be able to quickly recall large numbers out loud.
Please note, this uses HTML5 text-to-speech. You will need to use a supported browser on a computer to hear audio.
As of 19 Sep 2018, the latest version of Google Chrome works perfectly.
Android devices are not compatible.
How to use:
The page will read you a number in Japanese. Type it in the box.
If typed correctly (do not type commas to separate numbers) you will receive a point.
At any time you may press "Repeat" to play the number again or "Show Number" to display the number.
Difficulty
The difficulty can be adjusted using the coloured buttons.
Easy: Numbers 1 to 100,000, rounded to the nearest thousand.
Medium: Numbers 1 to 1,000,000, rounded to the nearest thousand.
Hard: Numbers 1 to 10,000,000, rounded to the nearest ten.
